Kirsten Kauffmann is a dancer from St. Louis, Missouri. She started dancing at 3 years old and trained in a variety of styles at the Movement Arts Center. As a teenager she was a company member of Dance League, traveling to perform and work at their conventions. In 2018, she completed a 3-month certificate program at Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles.
Kirsten attended Marymount Manhattan College in New York City to study dance and arts management. She performed in many ballet and modern pieces at MMC, and was also Dance Captain/Ensemble in a theatre production of American Idiot. In 2023, she graduated summa cum laude and received her BFA in Dance with a choreography concentration. While in New York, Kirsten taught ballet and tap for three years at Ballet Academy East in the Young Dancer and Primary Divisions.
Recently, Kirsten went on tour as a backup dancer with indie pop artist J-Line. She performed hip hop and commercial jazz styles throughout the east coast, New York City, and Canada. After this, she did a summer contract at the historic Cody Theatre in Wyoming. Here she danced and sang in the ensemble of Wild West Spectacular: The Musical. Dance styles included theatre jazz, tap, and contemporary.
This is Kirsten’s first season with KCDC, and she is excited to join them for In the Spirit of Things! Outside of performing, she teaches dance at The Studio LDG and Miami County Dance Movement. She is also an RYT certified yoga instructor since 2019, with a specialty certification in children’s yoga.
